Brrrrrrr

Let me just say, I would never in a million years make a good pioneer.  This weather is disgustingly cold and driving in it is a nightmare.  I know I sound whiney but think I have good reason.  At least the sun is shining today but even with help from above, the high will only be 5 degrees with a wind chill factor well below zero.  The sun is certain to create driving problems for the night shift tonight.  It'll work with the cars and salt to create just enough snow and ice melt that will immediately refreeze when the sun goes down again.

There isn't enough wool in my closet to deal with this cold.

I hear you! I keep trying to convince Clifford, our dog, to NOT go outside every hour. It lets a blast of air in that is brutal. That Florida trip sounds sooooo good!

Brenda, I go from freezing and bundling to hot flashes and then freezing again. I'm sick of eat. Duke is going out but not that often. He comes in shivering and wants to be covered with a blanket.

Rudee I think you're psychic. I was reading blogs about the terrible weather from people in central USA and today I was wondering how those pioneers made it across the USA. I also wondered what possessed them to start!

Yes I remember studying the themes of of Frontier and the American Dream. What stamina they must have had, maybe they didn't have much sense or then again I thought maybe they were into masochism!

If I'd once been daft enough to start crossing the country I think I would have kept going until I found somewhere warm!

Take care with your driving!

Flydragon-it's that pot/kettle thing...

Winifred-they were amazing people. I do think they were pretty adventurous and a little crazy.

I can't even imagine the cold you have out there. We're dropping in the teens tonight, but it'll be short lived. It's nice when it's rare; not sure how it'd be long term. Stay warm!

Hello Ruth. Do you need a visitor? Are you hiring burned out and now frozen ICU/hospice nurses? We are expecting a heat wave of -3C on the weekend.

Plently of jobs for nurses here burnt out or not.

I don't know how anybody can do this kind of weather. Okay, my guest room is ready. But..my sis is coming in, so you'll have to bunk with her.

OH that sounds awful! Just awful. I will stop complaining when I walk sabby to school and I'm chilly because it's in the 40's
