Lessons from the Dog

And from Cindyloo Who:

Remember, if a dog was the teacher you would learn things like:

§ When loved ones come home, always run to greet them.
§ Never pass up the opportunity to go for a joy ride.
§ Allow the experience of fresh air and the wind in your face to be pure ecstasy.
§ Take naps.
§ Stretch before rising.
§ Run, romp, and play daily.
§ Thrive on attention and let people touch you.
§ Avoid biting when a simple growl will do.
§ On warm days, stop to lie on your back on the grass.
§ On hot days, drink lots of water and lie under a shady tree.
§ When you're happy, dance around and wag your entire body.
§ Delight in the simple joy of a long walk.
§ Eat with gusto and enthusiasm. Stop when you have had enough.
§ Be loyal. Never pretend to be something you're not.
§ If what you want lies buried, dig until you find it.
§ When someone is having a bad day, be silent, sit close by

Thanks for the reminder Cindy.

I never quite thought of myself as a dog-person, but perhaps I'm just a person-dog. I wish that I had someone who did this for me when I walked through the door. I just get unwanted requests for sex and complaints about the Hamburger Helper I am expected to prepare.

AHHHH...life.

When I look in my future, I can't see life without a dog. My next though won't be prone to shedding and won't weigh 120 pounds. I like that he loves me unconditionally....No expectations except water, food, cookies and walks and the nightly ear scratching. He wouldn't dream of complaining about Hamburger Helper.

Thanks for the reminder. We should all take the time to enjoy a dog's life. It's really not half bad!

Thanks for the comment. I wouldn't mind a week of lollygagging like the dog... Bark a little, eat a lot, bark some more then nap. I could get used to that.
