Feebies

The feds are once again digging up a wooded lot in Detroit. Now this news flash could mean a lot of things, but to those of us who recall the 70's (and why wouldn't we?), speculation has it that they're once again looking for Jimmy Hoffa. The search warrant is sealed and the FBI is offering no information (and who could blame them-they come up empty like Rivera always did), which only adds fuel to the speculation fire. The last Big Dig was on a suburban Detroit horse farm three years ago.

I'm curious, how much money do you think they've spent on searching for this man? Do you think it's worth it, or are there better ways to spend this kind of money?

As an aside, for some reason, I can't stop humming songs from the movie, Dirty Dancing. I'm going to miss that man.

After all this time, would there really be anything left of Hoffa to find? I don't think so.

Patrick... yes he will be missed. I hope his wife is able to get through it okay.

Sad to hear about Patrick. I've been humming "I've had the time of my life" all day.

My Patrick Swayze connection: my cousin bought his brother's old house! Not a bad connection for a Brit eh?!!!

Very sad about Patrick Swayze. I think he did his best work in The Beast, and I'm really going to miss him.

Aren't they tired of looking for Hoffa?

I can't believe they are still looking for Hoffa. Yes It is very sad Patrick lost his battle with cancer.

I agree about Patrick Swayze. So sad, but he sure did fight.

As for Hoffa - how ridiculous is THAT? If they stumble on some bones one day, great - but to continually look for him after all these years?

Then again, I am not Mr. Hoffa's family and I am sure they would like the closure of burying their father/husband/son. Still - they wouldn't be looking/spending this much if it were just me, right?

Very sad about Patrick Swayze. Besides all the other good things about him, he was also a good person. I feel badly for his wife.

I don't know what finding Hoffa's body would prove other than he is actually dead. Speaking of...I'd rather they spent the money digging up Kenneth Lay's grave to make sure he's in there.

Maybe someone can plant a garden.

Willow is Kenneth Lay dead? Did I miss something?

My apologies Willow - I must've missed that. And we live in his hometown. :)

Kenneth Lay got off easy.

willowtree said...

He sure did, and it gets worse!

On October 17, 2006, since Lay died prior to exhausting his appeals, his conviction was abated. Precedent in the Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals, the federal appellate court governing the district where Lay was indicted, indicates that abatement had to be automatically granted. When abatement occurs, the law views it as though he had never been indicted, tried and convicted. -Wiki

Plus he was cremated and his ashes buried in a secret location... fishy, you bet!

This is how the rich stay that way. In this manner, his estate keeps everything, right?

Yes.
