Saturday Love

Do you have nine minutes to spare? I have something here that many of us have watched before, but maybe those among us who are younger have missed, or those who've seen it may be in need of a refresher course-like I was.  I want to spark your memories a bit and maybe make you think.  Or feel.  Knowing I was feeling quite down these past few days, my husband sent me this link to remind me of what is important in life. Before I knew it, nine minutes turned into sixty and I had watched the entire lecture (again).

The nurses who visit here know intimately how fleeting life can be. We should make the most of it while we are here and enjoy it-if for no other reason than to say that yes, we were here and we used our time well.  If we love and share that which makes us special and unique, perhaps our time will be perceived as having been spent wisely.  I hope so.  It's the reason I'm a hospice nurse.

So please, set aside a few minutes, grab a cup of coffee and pull up a chair. Leo has something important to say:

Have a lovely Saturday everyone.

Rudee,
I for one (even tho I'm not younger, ha) have never seen this before. I've come to the obvious conclusion that you are indeed the Genuine Plum. And your husband too, for sending you this link.

Thanks, Rudee! That was good to hear - I'll go look up the rest of the lecture.
I hope you have a nice, calm, relaxing, and productive weekend.

His books are a.w.e.s.o.m.e.

Hope you're having a good weekend.

I don't think I have seen his lectures or read his books, but I will now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention. I love the quote of his that you have on your sidebar quote. I could not agree more!
I agree with flydragon....you are one very special person Rudee!

I watched and listened with my cuppa coffee and have some thoughts that may not be up Leo's alley...
I'm not sure if this is in direct response to the issues of Rachel's House and the false allegations of a worker there, but if so don't want to see you beating yourself up. I'm all about forgiveness because it eats at the soul, but not so ready with the forgetting and certainly not with embracing everyone with LOVE. Including them to be embraced and to feel God's Love, yes. But some folks simply get taken off my radar for personal involvement. I'm not that big of a person.
D.H. Lawrence said it for me,

"Give, and it shall be given unto you
is still the truth about life.
But giving life is not so easy.
It doesn't mean handing it out to some mean fool, or letting the living dead eat you up.
It means kindling the life-quality where it was not,
even if it's only in the whiteness of a washed pocket-handkerchief."

As for mean fools, I'll gladly pray for them, but other than that, they're on their own.

Now that I read this over maybe I'm just a bitter bitch...

Flydragon, I can see you got to at least part 2.

Djinn-It's worth the time to watch it all.

J'Ollie, I've not read his books, but perhaps it's time.

Brenda, Thank you.

Mountain Woman, they are good words.

Distracted, I have no desire to continue to let this eat away at me. I have to be satisfied that she is out of the house, and that will have to do for now. I could pursue it more, but like I said, the desire is gone. Sometimes, it's good to let go of that which makes us feel such angst.

Rudee, you are special, no question. I'm with Distracted though, on the forgiving and forgetting part. I don't carry grudges and I let of things I can't change just don't ask me to forget, especially something serious...hugs

I don't know of this gentleman either. I was a home health nurse for many years and got interested in complimentary therapies. Massage therapy, Healing touch and Reike. I used those things to specialize in pain management at our agency. Touch is missing in so many of those folks lives. I am so glad I found you. I am retired now, but I love to keep up with things. Blessings

Queen- welcome. That's quite a long handle, so I hope you don't mind that I shortened it. I've been thinking of some courses in healing touch. When I'm at wit's end though, I find hand holding to often be enough. There is never a time that I'm unwilling to touch a patient and provide that human touch that we all crave. Thanks for commenting.

Yowsa! I forgot what a powerhouse Dr. Leo is. Talk about passion. Thank heavens for passionate people, like Leo and like you!

On the forgive and forget topic, I'm doing some "cleaning up my side of the street" work at the moment. And a friend gently reminded me that maybe I need for forgive myself first. I'm just baffled by that and how to start. It makes sense. It just terrifies me.

Weird, eh?

So if you have any wise words of self-forgiveness, I'm all ears!

Rudee, I will definitely come back and listen when I have time. I use to read his books and really have always liked what he has to say and the way he says it.
