Road Trip

I love a good road trip-especially when my honey does most of the driving and I do the naviguessing and knitting.  Since I have my Tom-Tom to take with us, I shouldn't get too many questions about where we are that I'll be fielding.  If you surmise this leaves me free to knit more, you're pretty astute.  I love that GPS thingymabob.

Neither one of us is taking much time off this summer.  No, this will be an autumn road trip to the east.  So far, we've considered travel through Toronto to Montreal where we'll spend a couple of days as tourists before we cross the border into the states again.  We like Montreal.  Maybe we'll spend a couple of days in the Adirondack region of New York, but we haven't decided yet.  We do have a destination in mind:  Rhinebeck, NY, in the Hudson River Valley.  My driver is a saint to accommodate my desire to go to this gargantuan fiber festival, don't you think?

It should be beautiful in New York in the autumn and I'm looking forward to planning this journey.  Any suggestions for what we shouldn't miss on a trip like this?

A trip in the fall is the best kind. That's a downside to teaching. Yes, I get summer off, but they frown on taking vaca during some of the best weather. I can't wait until you go so I can read about it. Montreal is on my short list too!

It looks like a beautiful place to visit and fiber is the icing on that cake. I like how you've managed to get the flavor of Montreal in there with a French photographer.

The most important thing to not miss is the proper exit!

Oh yes he must be a treasure and to drive all that way too. Sounds like some lovely places to see on that trip.

Sounds great! Especially the part about having a driver and you with so much free time to knit and relax.

Am I the only person in the world without vacation plans? Wah wah!

I love autumn travel. And so many months to savor the planning and the possibilities.

I've never taken that course so I have no suggestions. Sorry, I'm useless.

Autumn! Geesh, sadly we won't be here September and October, it's that Greek thing again. If you headed north/east from Toronto into Haliburton country the leaves are magnificent at that time of year. You could then head towards Ottawa and south to Montreal. Nice little round trip and it is a beautiful region to travel through. I miss fall in Ontario since we're always away...ciao

Sounds like such fun. I am a nurse too and though I can't knit yet I want to learn.
