I Must Be a Shitzu Magnet

I went to a home to see a patient Friday night that's 25 miles from my home.  As I was stopped at a light, the passenger in the car in front of me threw this dog out of their car and took off.  I didn't even get the make of the car-I wasn't paying attention.  It was 11:30 at night, so I scooped up this little pooch and took her home.  She was shivering, starving and thirsty.

She has a tag that says she lives in a town that's 20 miles south of where I rescued her, but the phone number on the tag was disconnected.  I don't know if she was dumped by her owner, or stolen and dumped.  She's not spayed and her teeth look very white-she looks young and seems well mannered and calm. She has a glamorous name even though she's pigeon-toed, has a wicked underbite and bulging eyeballs:  Paris.

I'll take her to a shelter tomorrow to see if she has a microchip since I couldn't feel one.  Since she's not spayed, I'm not too hopeful.  For tonight, she'll sleep with me.  I hope she doesn't snore.

Did I not just bemoan the fact that I can't have a dog at this house in Friday's post?  Does a Shitzu count?  I mean since it's so small, is it really a DOG?  Is this serendipity, or what?  I found this dog only a couple of hours after I posted that item.  I didn't have to go out and see that patient as the family thought they could wait for a nurse to come out tomorrow-I did it because I felt someone needed me.  It must have been Paris.

I can't begin to tell you how angry this makes me. She's yours now.

Oh, I almost forgot... there's also the possibility that it was an angry (ex)boyfriend. Whatever the reason, the person has no soul.

STUPID people. **angry**

Thank you for rescuing her. She is absolutely adorable :D

I hope you can keep her, if not, I know you will absolutely find her a good home.

I would rename her - Serendipity and call her Dippy ;)

WT, I agree, but I can't keep her. There is a local Shih Tzu rescue in my town and I've already emailed them. If I surrender her, I just want to know she's going to a no kill shelter.

Skippy-I thought of the same names. Hah.

Oh, Rudee, that is just terrible. Poor little dog! I hope she gets to go to a good home. I will say a prayer that she does. Both of my doggies were dumped, so were the cats. I hate heartless people!

Have a good weekend!

So pleased you were on hand to pick her up. I'm not a doggy person, but I hate to see animals treated like this

Oh, she definitely did need you. I can't believe somebody did that.

I love the play on words in your title! I can't believe people do that, except I know they do. I have a friend who lived on a country road and she found abandoned animals all the time unfortunately. Love the porch swing. Glad MLTL is okay. Maybe they did a personality transplant while he was in???

That is a heart breaker! I just can't get it in my head that anyone could be so cruel.....animals....children.

You were definitely there for a reason. And thank goodness you were. She's a pretty little thing. She reminds me of my sister's dog....I love her little face.

Sounds like a "dancing lesson from God." Even if there's a worried owner that she gets returned to, freels like you were meant to be there.

Oh, and "Shitzu rescue", that reminds me of "Best of Show" :)

Working on finding her a home...No I don't need a 4th dog, The New pup may be a snack for Chubby...Or would it be Gabby.....

Hard to believe how cruel people can be. What a lovely little dog she is too. She hasn't had much luck in her little life but one good thing was it was you that found her. Guardian Angel Rudee.

Hope you manage to get her settled and they find her a good home.

It wasn't just luck that you were there to help. Everything has a reason...Paris was waiting. She's very little, isn't she? What an awful thing do to any animal.

Perhaps you could persuade the owners to allow her. After all she is small, doesn't shed and will stay that way. It sounds like it was meant to be. Hope it works out somehow. She is so cute!

What dog???
Looks like a cat to me. Rabbit? Ferret? Hamster? Can you have ant pets at all?
A fish will be difficult, but if I take off my glasses and squint just right...

This is the grandest story. Paris is perfect for you. Maybe if you take her to the rescue place they can keep her til you find a new place. I bet someone is looking for her. I know you will see she is safe. Blessings

(Heavy sigh.) Sometimes I think we do need to spin off a border state so all folks like your dog dumper can go live amongst their selves.

Paris/Dippy is indeed the one who needed you, and you are an angel to find her a good home.

Unless... you decide you really do want her and we can start a petition to your landlord.

Rudee, don't tell anyone, I hate this crab. I will take care of it for my GD, but I hate it. I like your doggie better.

There are no accidents, you were there to do this. Thank you!

I'm not a big fan of dogs that look like little fur balls myself but this one is kind of cute. I can't see anyone who owns this animal tossing it out of a car. Must have been stolen, me thinks. Adore your porch...ciao

HOLY TOLEDO, Batman. I'll say that's serendipity. More like cosmic kismet. And to top it off, I'll officially sanction it a woo-woo moment.

I think you WERE there for Paris. You rescued her. She's a doll.. Wish your landlord didn't go back on her word. I love Shitzus.
