As I was checking my credit report for my lease application today, I got an email from the realtor. As you can surmise from the title, and alternate title of this post, we didn't even get the opportunity to make an offer, and the house was leased out last night to someone who was better prepared. Although I feel an intense pressure to find a home, I felt no pressure to fill out the application yesterday afternoon and told the agent I'd do it on Friday. Damn, the place has had no offers since it was listed on December 5th. That's what I get for procrastinating and taking the time to wallow in self pity this week.
Just in case you can't tell, that's Brazilian cherry flooring. This floor is throughout the main living level of the home.
The search is on again. As I write this, my husband is driving past two other homes I looked at on Wednesday. We are not without options. Two of the places I saw were on my short list, and they're still available. Not a soul has trashed this kitchen cooking a gourmet meal. I'd be the first, and believe me, I can trash a kitchen once the flour starts to fly.
There was one house one in particular, that I found stunningly beautiful. It's a brand new home in a mixed neighborhood of old, new, remodeled, and brand new homes. The builder has been unable to sell it, probably because of the deflated market and lack of vision for people moving into the area. It appeals to me because it is new. For the same reason, it worries me. I'd have to install all of the window treatments at my own expense. This seems to be the only wart I could find on this one. What do you think?
Now here is a bath suitable for Jane Jetson. Hopefully, it comes with an owner's manual.

Don't think I would ever get my boys out of that bath
I love this; The floors; the counter tops; the kitchen the BATHROOM. I'd Lease just that shower! I think this is a GREAT house to get NOW
Too bad about the other house. PollyAnna says there must be a better home waiting for you to find it.
Now that's some bathroom!! I would love to have one of those showers with nozzles all over the place. Gets the nooks and crannies so much better. (I'd also like one of those toilets that washes you and then blow dries the area. hahahaha)
I'm sorry about the other house, but there are no accidents. It wasn't meant to be for some reason. I really believe that.
I love the floors and the kitchen. The shower/bath is a hoot! I just never expected such new age technology in a shower!
Good luck with your search, it will happen soon.
Thanks for the vit. D link, I am checking into that.
XXXXXX
Is it really a bath? Looks more like the controls of the Starship Enterprise.
I can make a horrendous mess in the kitchen too but I don;t exactly do gourmet meals. My husband makes an even bigger mess but he's a better cook. Better must cook = more mess!
If you need a bit of wallowing then you do it. You're entitled!
Love the countertops and the bathroom! New is fun; I did it once and it definitely has its merits! Good luck. Just remember it'll all work out.
Is that counter space I see? And an amazing shower. WOW
It all looks good to me. Have to laugh at CC. Are you having fun looking? It looks fun. Probably stressful though because of the time crunch. I am having fun looking along with you!
CC-if you click on the picture to enlarge, you'll see the blue/yellow brushes. They must be for putting a polish on something!
Brenda, I wake up every morning with agida because I don't have a place to live. I will shoot myself before I moved in-even for a night-with Mr. Larger Than Life. If my husband is reading this, the answer to that conundrum is a flat out NO!NO!NO!NO!NO!
Debra-there were counters and storage galore in this place, but my husband isn't crazy about the neighborhood, so it's back to the listings with this one on the back burner.
Here is a little ditty to help you search:
Little Boxes (The Theme from Weeds)
By Malvina Reynolds
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes made of ticky tacky,1
Little boxes on the hillside,
Little boxes all the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
And the people in the houses
All went to the university,
Where they were put in boxes
And they came out all the same,
And there's doctors and lawyers,
And business executives,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
And they all play on the golf course
And drink their martinis dry,
And they all have pretty children
And the children go to school,
And the children go to summer camp
And then to the university,
Where they are put in boxes
And they come out all the same.
And the boys go into business
And marry and raise a family
In boxes made of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
There's a green one and a pink one
And a blue one and a yellow one,
And they're all made out of ticky tacky
And they all look just the same.
Well anonymous, I don't know who you are, but I like the way you think. I live in a ticky tacky house right now and really want something old and charming. I found a place across the street from a very old cemetery today. I was smitten yet again. If nothing else, my neighbors would be quiet. I hope...
