Slacker

While Rudee and her husband were pretending to pack shifting piles of belongings from one area of the house to the next, Slaveboy was out at the zoo playing with his camera. Yesterday, his excuse was golfing on the first nice day of the year. He also took the picture of the peacock up above.

Even the cats were lounging.

I'm not moving anything that never gets used-like this eye shadow that has lived here as long as I have and hasn't been used in just as long.

I'm having a harder time with the few nice pieces I have, like the Shelly teacups and saucers, and the hand painted Nippon china that's really old. Or the gold champagne chalices from our wedding day-I can't get rid of those. The silver creamer and sugar bowl were my moms. I can't do away with those.

I'll use my Waterford champagne flutes when we move. I swear. I love champagne. Here's a heads up for those of you who like to buy me salt and pepper shakers for gifts. Don't. I have way too many and even though they're all cute, I just don't have any more room to house them all.

And me? I'm lounging now too. While channel surfing, I came across Moonstruck, and I'm watching that instead of packing. I think it's a better excuse than golfing or taking pictures at the zoo.

Jeez, rudee, I was planning on making you a set of salt and pepper shakers...
Now I am off to lounge as well.

I love that movie! I don't envy you packing; we did it last year and there are still boxes in the garage (that we obviously don't need) to unpack. And a hall closet that should be used better. And. . .

Rest up, grrrl. I'm exhausted simply looking at the photos--you must be ready to drop:>)

Well, I don't blame your son for wanting to golf and go to the zoo. The weather has been restricting lately, so good weather days are getting out days. Those gifts that tend to become large collections are the hardest to do things with. You appreciate someone thinking about you but then they grow and get out of hand. Since you will still own the house, is there a real big rush to remove everything? Just curious.

Brenda, between the S&P shakers, and the yarn, we're going to need a room just for collectibles. I'm leaving a lot of things here already including most of the furniture, with the exception of my antiques. We need to leave room for the women moving in too. I wish I could just pack a suitcase and my yarn. If I lived in a perfect world, that's what I'd do.

Moving is always a great chance for a clear out, but it's hard to make choices sometimes. Your antique stuff is beautiful - definitely a keeper.
Love your sons pic of the peacock and I'm so glad your job news was positive. The jury's still out on that matter in our case.

Oh I dread the thought of ever moving. I'm such a hoarder. I love to see other people who have stuff like me. My daughter in law is in to minimalism so she looks in horror at my house where I throw very little away and what I do is recycled.

You have to toast your new house in those lovely glasses. Don't miss the fine weather if you can enjoy it.

My motto - Always put off what you can do today until tomorrow! Well you might not need to do it then. Used to work brilliantly at work where they changed their minds about what they wanted you to do every day. Mind you, unless you can persuade/pay someone to do your packing, there's an inevitability about that task!

I thought the Tigers were in Florida??? At least until the end of March.

As the weather improves your slaveboy will be out on the golf course Daily; better hurry. I hear he has a tee time tomorrow!

E bay those shakers! There are people yearning to fill their houses to the rafters with things someone else doesn't want.

Well there are some of us who are better under the gun! I would be the type to put things off until the last week...

Flutes are pretty, I like them...
