Home

As of 5 PM Tuesday, we're the happy owners of a new home. While I've been out shopping for appliances, window dressings, shower curtains and area rugs, my son has been shopping for four legged friends. He keeps sending pictures--so not helpful. Gate first, dog later.

We'll be without appliances until next Tuesday, but as long as the coffee pot can brew and the microwave can heat, I think I'll survive. I've survived worse. I don't recall when, but I'm quite sure I have. Hopefully, Wide Open West will show up tomorrow as promised to hook up our cable access. There should be barely a burp in internet services.

My bags are packed and more importantly, so is the yarn. Nothing like cutting it close. I'll pack up the bathroom tomorrow and mop my way out of this place. While it's not exactly the way I thought I'd spend my 53rd birthday, it is the best birthday gift I could ask for...a place to call our own. I can't wait to hang my art, set up my knitting room and get the guy over to put up a gate.

Woof.

Happy Belated Birthday!
I am looking forward to seeing the new house.

I loved the photos of your cat. He looks just like one I had years ago.

Looks like you came through just in time with getting everything packed up. Nice job.

Happy Birthday! What a knockout birthday present! And there are lots of presents (er..boxes) to unwrap...what could be better?
It's so exciting to make it all yours but all new, too. A LOT of work but worth it.

I have enjoyed reading of your adventures in this house and can't wait to read of your adventures in the new one. Could you just purloin Mr. Nosey and let him move with you? He's such a dear and obviously feels at home with you.

Congrats on having a new house - I am delighted for you - you seem to have had glitches in the past over trying to find a nice new home. I see someone said happy birthday to you and as mine was yesterday I'm wondering do we share a birthday or is it today - if so Happy Birthday Rudee! Sorry to not have been by your blog lately - been quite a month losing my mother and becoming a granny, so it is only now I am slowly getting back to some sort of even keel. And as you know too well bereavement and grieving is a long process...
Anyway - happy moving and talk to you again!

You are woman, you are strong. Yup, you will survive and look back on this time and laugh about it. We once moved on Christmas eve and my parents were coming over for dinner. Somehow it all worked out but I was younger then. Congratulations again and a very Happy Birthday...ciao

Im glad you bought a new home and its all falling into place! Phew!!! I heard an interesting radio program about Detroit and I thought of you. A guy called Jerry Packendorf was talking about his program to try and get non-Detroit dwellers to buy into Detroit and re-invigorate the city. Im going to look it up on the Net now. Happy Birthday babe, its my Birthday too next week. I will be 41. xxxoooo
