True Confession

I secretly adore most of the music of Abba.  I mean, what girl doesn't like the song Dancing Queen?  Now that you know, can you believe that before Christmas Eve, I'd never seen the play (nor the movie) that highlights their music?

I worked all night Christmas Eve.  My daughter and I had hoped to go to Midnight Mass, but by the time I got home from work, it was long over.  I gave her Mamma Mia! as an early Christmas gift and we sat down to be entertained.  Let's just say, I have a brand new appreciation for Meryl Streep, Christine Baranski and especially, Julie Waters.  Even Pierce Brosnan gets another nod.

If you're like me and haven't seen this movie, get thee to Blockbusters.  Better yet, buy it.  It's sure to go into that stack of movies you pull out on rainy and blue days.

I felt the same way when I saw it. Although I really did not like Meryl and Pierce singing. Both look really nice for their age. I think they are my age, maybe a little older. The movie was very upbeat and made you feel good.
Sorry you had to work for Christmas Eve. Hope you got to relax yesterday.

Brenda, if you call cooking for 12 relaxing, well then, yes I did get to do a little of that. Actually, I enjoy that a lot-especially with my brothers in the kitchen helping me!

I thought Meryl and Pierce were good. Perhaps the charm was that they weren't great singers, but still pulled it off. I laughed pretty much through the whole thing.

I saw the movie when it first came out and I bought it recently but haven't re-watched it at home. It was so inspiring to me to watch it and see that I too, at 55 Plus..ahem...could be that limber and alluring, ha!..if I only jumped on beds ...

I see what they mean about being a feel-good movie that you can't help but tap your toes.

There's a heck of a lot to be said for dancing and jiving and having the time of your life...and looking at Pierce and Colin:>)

I saw the musical on Broadway and loved it. I left the theatre on such a musical high. For Christmas, Hannah recieved the DVD. I can't wait to watch it. Those songs are just great! I had to buy the sound track and sometimes play it on the way to work. You can't help but feel happy.

Thanks for the hint. I'll definitely watch some movies before I go back to school and this was on my short list. Don't EVER rent The Women though! Horrible! Almost as bad as Notting Hill!

I have always loved Abba! Got most of their records and their music makes me want to get up and dance.

When it wasn't exactly popular stuff along came the Aussie film industry making some great films with their music. Nice!
