Bo-Ring

I'm working on the border of the piece that shall not be mentioned, but may or may not be a shawl.  I have thanked the heavens for lifelines several times this weekend and have ripped out a few wonky looking sections more than once.  Now every time I complete a 30 row repeat of the border, I sink a new lifeline.  It takes a few seconds but saves countless hours of misery.

Today was particularly boring, mainly because it's a rest day for Le Tour and I have nothing to keep me company while I knit.  Just before I contemplated poking myself in the eyes with my size 6 Addi Turbo lace needles, I found a James Bond marathon on USA network.  I love James Bond and have my favorites, including Sean Connery and Roger Moore.  After Roger, I thought I could never love another-especially when they offered up Timothy Dalton, but then they found Pierce and I gained a new found appreciation for 007.  I didn't think I'd like Daniel Craig, but he has some particularly interesting assets.

If I ever finish that which shall not be mentioned, I'll owe a debt of gratitude to USA network for the nonstop action that kept me company along the way.

Who was your favorite 007 actor?

Oh, definitely Sean. He's like my guilty secret, as a feminist. Love that accent. But Daniel is really good too. A nice balance of restrained sexuality and craggy good looks. I was watching Miss Marple on Mystery last night; love those, although they're not in the same category at all, are they? :)

Oh, Sean all the way. Although he can be a bit of a pig in real life [talking about hitting his wife to keep her in line? hello?!] I thought he was by far the best.

Pierce is a close second. Mmmmm.

I saw the "Queens Secret Service" this morning at 5 am, but it had the unknown Bond guy in it - y'know the one that only did that one movie? I couldn't get into it.

I love how you are calling the thing "The thing that shall not be named" - can't wait until you are finished just because I am greedy and want to see it :) but I will be sad because you crack me up everytime you write about it. heehee

Sean Connery without a doubt. And my favorite movie is "From Russia with Love."

Seems like you are flying through your "shall not be mentioned".

Sean is my favorite...maybe I am just stuck in my youth. I was thrilled when he showed up on Indiana Jones.

I'm part of that generation. I love Sean Connery. You never know if those things you read are true or not. He might have said that to keep up the "tough guy" persona.

I'm not much of a 007 fan if truth be told. The one and only one I saw was Goldfinger, see how old I am...was that Sean Connery?...ciao

While Sean Connery runs a very close second, long ago I fell for Pierce hook, line and sinker. I think it was the 'Remington Steele' reruns I watched at a very impressionable age.

Well, Rudee, I was never a big 007 fan either, but Sean Connery would be my choice as well. However, if I was sitting there knitting for a few hours, I would rather be watching old musicals, like Singing in the Rain, The Sound of Music, The Last Time I Saw Paris, etc, etc. Guess I'm just an oldie.

Roger Moore...he was my childhood Bond.

It was Sean, but I love Pierce Brosnan. Timothy Dalton is always Mr Rochester for me, he was one of the best, but definitely not Mr Bond

I'm still thinking about the border of "the thing that cannot be mentioned." I think the lifeline-which I assume is a knot or a place where you can stop or control the unraveling process-is a good idea. I so want to see the final project. I can't wait, Rudee. I don't think I have a favorite 007 actor...it's all slipped away into the past. <3

Daniel Craig does indeed have some interesting assets. Ahem. Although I liked his first Bond outing much better than the second, which was a hot mess.

I feel your pain about not having much to watch on TV while having to sit and do something. I am in that boat today and the rest of this week. We are having work done in the house and me and the dog have to stay out of the way.
I plan on renting some movies for the rest of the week.
Sean C is my fav. The current one looks like a hottie but I haven't seen any of the 007's to tell you the truth.

Well, seeing as how I named my first-born child after Mr. Connery . . . BUT (and pun totally intended) I have fallen head over heals for Mr. Craig.

Can eyes truly be that color?

Favorite "gadget" from CR was actually jewelry--the necklace that Vespa wears. I've been trying to work out the pattern in my little 2-D brain to see if I can replicate it with seed beads.

Favorite scene -- when Bond almost gets the defib gadget to work and Vespa saves the day.

oooooooo-eeeeeeeee. . . I'm going to have to watch it again.

Oh, and good luck with that which cannot be mentioned. I'm rooting for ya!

A woman after my own heart. I love Bond too. Now I'm feeling 'shaken not stirred.'
