On This Day in History

~When I am no longer even a memory--just a name, I hope my voice may perpetuate the great work of my life. God bless my dear old comrades of Balaclava and bring them safe to shore~

Florence Nightingale
May 12, 1820 - August 13, 1910

Happy Birthday, Florence. You and your ground breaking work are not forgotten. I'd like to tip my nursing cap to all my fellow nurses.

Hold your lamp up!

I can't even imagine the life she lived and the battles she must have fought.

A tip of the white cap to you and the others who advocate for their patients on a daily basis, and who provide caring as well as care.

Yeah, Florence was a great example! I don't think she ever could foresee that she would be remembered a century later!

I enjoyed catching up. Love the shawl, it's so colorful. Leo is a doll and I'm glad he helped you cook. Hope your finger is doing better and it was fun seeing what you've been up to.
