Coming Undone

That was quick! From building to nesting in less than one week. The damn birds are making me feel bad about ignoring my yarn room.

I don't like frogging when it comes to knitting. For some reason, frogging feels like admitting defeat. For those who don't knit, frogging is the act of unraveling a garment when it's just not working out. Sometimes, the yarn is all wrong. Sometimes the pattern is all wrong. Sometimes the yarn is all wrong for the pattern and sometimes the problem lies with the knitter. I have quite a few projects that need frogging and it wouldn't be a negative thing to liberate the yarn...it would just be that final act of admitting I wasn't good enough to manage the problem.

Over the past few days, I've been considering what it will take to frog my career in order to liberate my mind. I'm mulling over the options and I'm fairly certain I know what I don't want to do, but less certain of what I do want. I'm stalking the job listings for my own health system, and others. I'm sure it'll come to me, just like this email did today:

'May today there be peace within. May you trust that you are exactly where you are meant to be. May you not forget the infinite possibilities that are born of faith in yourself and others. May you use the gifts that you have received, and pass on the love that has been given to you. May you be content with yourself just the way you are. Let this knowledge settle into your bones, and allow your soul the freedom to sing, dance, praise and love. It is there for each and every one of us.'

I don't know the source of the quote, and I don't think the sender is aware of my troubles, but I'm certainly appreciative of her timing.

On another note, it would appear that my particular Doberman is a genius. He can read. He is reading. Well, between licking the pages and trying to knock the book out of my hands, that's what I think he's up to here. We are reading Sebastian Junger's new book, War, together. Just the kind of reinforcement someone with PTSD needs to do, right? I love his writing though, and couldn't help myself. Leo likes it, too.

The quote is from Saint Therese of Lisieux. It is a good one. Looks like Leo wants to share everything with you. Birds seem to be nesting in the weirdest places. I have one in my dryer vent that I keep trying to discourage. What's wrong with trees these days?

He's not going to let you forget he's around in a hurry. Know what you mean about frogging your knitting. sometimes it's the only thing you can do, and if something good can come from it, a great feeling too

Interesting idea: frogging your career. It takes a lot of courage to do that and I applaud you.

Robins are just silly birds. Our beautifully built nest is empty because the builder couldn't find a mate. I've also noticed that their babies - when we've had babies - are much more vulnerable than other birds'.

The doberman licking the book pages... hahaha a speed reader, no doubt!! He wants the page turned.

I hope the Universe brings you signs to show you the path of your life that will work the best for you and those around you. (Personally, I find recognizing the signs the most difficult.)

Dobermans must be much smarter than poodles. Our poddle reads the comic section of the paper every day with his 'brothers' of the two legged variety but he has never moved to more weighty matters. I'll show him this post to see if it will inspire him to furthering his education.
I really like your idea of frogging your career, sometimes it is the deciding that is the hardest part. I hope everything works out well for you.

Goodness, no Nora Roberts simple fluff for you? Isn't it funny how things are so foggy until they are clear? The the answers seem so obvious.

I wish you well in finding what it is that you will enjoy as much as you used to enjoy hospice! I'm sure it is out there. I just referred a patient on to hospice today... I'm so glad to be in home health!

Now if you can get Leo to hold the book...

The right job will drop in your lap and you will wonder why you did not see it earlier.

In the meantime you might want to look up Jon Stewart's interview with Sebastian Junger on The Daily Show. He cannot get enough of that handsome guy:>)!! Funny, and nice interview.

What a smart do that Leo is! My two don't read at all; they just lie on the floor and stare at me with those big eyes when I read. Well actually Geordie whines sometimes, which is very irritating.
I like that quote a lot--especially the part about letting the knowledge settle into your bones and allowing your soul the freedom.

Rudee, you hang in there. I know something will come your way that will not be so stressful. I would imagine your career is a gift of self. It must take a toll on your spirit.

I love the expression "frogging" and I will think of you when I use that word.

Leo looks so devine and comfortable with you. Dobbies are so smart and intuiative.

Be strong and safe.
