Rudee get ur guns

As if you didn't already know, there is a gigantic storm bearing down on almost all of us, but I am ready. As long as the hospice bat line doesn't ring, I'll be going absolutely nowhere. I have plenty of yarn, coffee, darjeeling tea and a Costco size package of toilet paper that should last 3 months. I'm prepared to cook enough meals to last a week and if all else fails, we'll all be eating lentils and rice until we can cut a path out the door. If you believe the weathermen (and women), that may be never. I especially liked the weather woman this morning who did a demonstration of the storm from the north meeting the storm from the south and giving it a smackdown with her elbow. She was very entertaining in a totally banal manner.

Here are just a smattering of adjectives I've heard that are being used by the fearmongers about the storm that's upon us now:

colossal

monster

Historic

Record-breaking

Crippling

Paralyzing

massive

devastating

Multi-Day Dangerous

catastrophic

apocalyptic

cataclysmic

Life threatening,

and my personal favorite:

Doozie

All we need are plagues and locusts to round out the biblical picture of the end being near.

Frankly, I'm a little more worried about the gunman who is taking potshots at people at the freeway ramp I use every single day of my life.

Well yikes on the gunman! Nice of you to just slip that in there so nonchalantly.

I don't think our "event" is going to be anything like yours. Although if we end up with ice (it's still up in the air - heh) that will be pretty annoying. Can't wait to read your posts from the calamity zone!

Our snow here in Co didn't turn out too bad. We didn't get much more than a dusting. The big issue is going to be sub-zero temps.

A snow storm in the winter?

I can remember one other traumatic event in our weather history. It was the summer of 1965 and it rained heavily in April in the south end of Warren, MI.

Got all your hatches battened?

We're getting grey skies and rain but no snow. Good luck!

A gunman? Really?!! And you sound so cool about it.

Weather events abound this winter. A friend in Australia was bemoaning the terrible heat wave. There's a perspective here somewhere.
Stay warm and woolly.

Did the gun man make the national news? Sorry, I had not heard about this. I hope they stop hime soon dead in his tracks.

Say a little prayer this afternoon at 4:30 because my sister is having to put Carmen, her dobie, down. I hate cancer.

We are suppose to have some of that bad weather. Down here it is detramental because none of us knows how to drive in it.

Stay all cozy in your cute little bungalow. I am making more soup.

Weather events - we were supposed to have THE STORM didn't happen at all just some rain that in summer was so nice as it dosen't happen often.
Gunman - yikes now that is a real worry.
Stay warm and safe.

Yes, the gun man would be my concern. The snow will melt but once shot...

Stay safe and warm.

Yikes, I would be more worried about a gunman.

I've been watching the Weather Channel and they sound like they've been watching that end of the world movie a few too many times.

It rained today in Tucson, so maybe they are right.

I am praying that you don't get a phone call tonight. Please be safe, and warm.

Hugs!

Take cover and I'll be praying for sunshine.

You have a gunman on the loose!!!
That storm is coming up from Texas I heard. All weather persons must be cut from the same cloth, they are using identical words here. I shopped like a fiend today, filled up water bottles just in case, dug out all my candles in case the power goes out and washed all the woolie socks. I'm ready so maybe nothing will come of it...ciao and stay safe

we're not weather wimps, are we. After all, we know what lake effect snow is, too.

Our reports were the same thing...same words. I swear the meteorologists actually get hyper/ excited when they get to report the upcoming doom and gloom.

Also...you and I live in the highest crime areas in the country....so the gunman frightens me for you and everyone in his path...but we hear stories like that also. Every single day there is some crime to report. Gangs and drugs guns and murders. It is just awful.
