Unease

I don't like that some people know what I don't and can't know, but feel they must share cryptically with the rest of us in order to keep us safe. Half a story is all they'll share. I'd much rather have the whole story. Really. I think I can take it.

And I don't like that my sister is in London right now. I wish she'd finish up her business and get home.

Once again, terrorists win with tactics and behavior typically used to incite fear.

Bastards.

Rudee - we don't have TV right now - and I haven't been on any of the news channels lately [on the net] but I am off to check it out, but I wanted to tell you first that I am praying and wishing for your sister's very, very safe return.

Please keep us posted. If you need me just email and I will be here for about another hour.

Take care sweetheart. She will be fine.

It's so difficult to know the best thing to do. Wishing her a safe return, we always feel safer when our families are where they're supposed to be

I know what you mean. I will send good thoughts. My oldest attends college in NYC (Harlem) and everytime there's a train derailed, I worry.

Two things: I think that the alert system is designed to keep the sheep in line.

Two: Something to lighten your heart a little, Ron White's Improved Security System has two steps:

1. Get a helmet.
2. Put on the damn helmet.

Much more useful than color codes and alerts.

I'm with you. Either tell me, or don't tell me. Don't say, hey, it's dangerous, but go ahead and travel.

I feel very sorry for a neighbor whose daughter just left last week for a semester in London.

Saying a prayer for your family. I agree. I have seen the headlines for the past few days and wonder why torment us like that.

Hi Rudee, I'm reading here in the European papers (Guardian) that America is over reacting??? Not getting a whole lot of news right now, very unreliable internet service for me...ciao

No matter where family - or how grown up they get - we worry when we don't know. I still think of my kids' whereabouts whenever I hear a siren!
Hope that your sister stays safe.

I really don't understand the purpose in warning people to be extra vigilant. There's nothing more one can do. I share your worries. My brother and sister-in-law are traveling in Europe now and then to Egypt.
