How Not to Host a Party

A. Stay up all night being worried about terrorists.
B. Get up to watch what the talking heads on CNN have to say about it all, even though you got the real story in the first place.
C. Fall asleep on the sofa--one floor and unknown amount of feet away from the alarm clock.
D. Wake up 25 minutes before guests arrive and realize the best you can manage is a quick shower, a fresh pot of coffee and throwing out last night's trash quickly before everyone arrives.

The above is a real life representation of just what I did. I was thankful that my guests were my friends from my Saturday morning spinning group and they, truth be told, are a group of women I feel completely relaxed around.

We had a great morning and I took no pictures. If I'd taken any, it would have been the one of the look on my son's face when he walked in and saw his living room had been taken over by a bunch of fiber hoarding, wheel wielding women all talking about every little thing and nothing, all in the same breath.

I live for Saturdays.

Thanks to all my friends for joining me on just another Saturday.

We heard about the terrorist guy on the plane and I was thinking of you and your husband. Thankfully everyone was safe. It sure changes the way we fly in future though doesn't it. This trip security tore my handbag apart. I forgot a metal show horn. I also always get patted down big time because of my beeping hip. I guess I really look like a terrorist. Happy Saturday...ciao

Those are the best kind of friends to have, aren't they? :)

I haven't been paying attention to the news which I usually do, but since it is Christmas I haven't had it on or read it on line. I think I may have to go check up on this terrorist story. eek.

Glad you had a nice Saturday.

Think we have all done from time to time. At least the half hour rushing round was for a good cause and you enjoyed yourselves

I've done that as well, rushing in the last minute like that. But if one's friends are kindred spirits, they won't mind a little mess. Sounds like you had a great time with them.

Happy Sunday!

Aren't crafting friends the best? As long as you let them in the house, I'm sure they were happy!

Wish I could have been there :)

My youngest daughter flew from to Chicago yesterday on her way to San Francisco before her international flight to Australia. I decided not to watch the news, but the weather was another story. A 3.5 hour delay before they left. Later, flights were canceled. On angels wings!

So glad you had a wonderful time with your fellow spinners!

Haha...as I was reading this I thought maybe your son showed up in his undies or something. The news is disturbing to say the least! The evils that invade us are starting to get on my nerves. Spinning away all worrries sounds wonderful!

I enjoyed catching up on your posts. Glad the party went well. Knitters are such a fine group of friends.

I didn't hear about the terrorist until today. I immediately thought of you.
I'm glad that you had a spinning party to give you comfort and fun.

Sounds like a perfect day...getting up twenty minutes before guests arrive is so much nicer than being awake for hours before stressing about cleaning ;0)

I'm glad everyone is okay after that crazy nut.

Turned out nice anyway.

As individuals there's really nothing we can do about the terrorists, we have to rely on security systems and sadly they're not infallible. I'm not going to worry about it because that's letting the buggers win!

The party was fantastic! And you looked gorgeous as always...you do good work in 20 minutes :P

And yes-the look of terror on your son's face was priceless :)

Hope we can do it all again soon! Thanks again for hosting!
