Did I Find a Reflecting Sign?

In all of my years of knitting, I've never taken a formal class-I am a self taught knitter.  Luckily, I've been the recipient of many helpful yarn store owners and employees who have been kind enough to give me drive-by advice.   I'm sure it helps that I've spent small fortunes in their stores.  I'm about to change all of that and heed the little voice that's been talking to me.  I signed up for a spinning class.  Nine AM sharp on Friday morning, I'll sit down at a spinning wheel for the first time in my life.  I'm very excited about this.  The yarn store owner told me, "you've been talking about this for years."  She's right.  It's finally time to explore my interests.

Please don't bring up the fact that I don't own a spinning wheel.  I'm trying hard to ignore that for now, though I am scouring Craigslist daily.

How exciting, Rudee! You'll love it. A drop spindle is a good starter item too, so I've heard. It's also portable! Love the furniture too. The house is looking wonderful.

That will be fun I am sure. Hope someone takes a picture of you at the spinner...is that what they call it?! Ha.. I clicked on the la-de-dah store at the previous post and they have classes also.
Your quote at the top cracked me up. I may had heard that one before but I laughed hysterically at my own little philosophy about it.

Good for you! I firmly keep out of that particular black hole (spinning) but I do want to take a top down sweater class very soon. Been talking/thinking about it for a few years. Glad you survived Easter btw.

Next you will have sheep and be carding wool!

Good for you, I keep checking craigs list too. I actually have an ancient one at my cottage but it's missing bits and pieces. I should find someone to fix it. I do the drop spindle spinning when I need to chill...ciao

Jane, I'll probably buy a drop spindle. They have some unique ones at the knitting shop.

Winifred, I'm not brave. I'm crazy.

Miss, you have that new sewing machine. If you start to spin, when will you sew?

Brenda, did you see a class for using stitch witchery? I'll take that one. Those sewing machines are nice, but they appear a bit intimidating to me.

Rose, jump on in, the water looks fine.

Gail-don't go thinking that's not on the list.

Rositta, I've found a few, but don't know what I'm looking for, or at. Clueless.

Lisa-the furniture is comfy too. I lurve it.

they say that knitting is the gateway drug to spinning :)

Thanks Sue. Just what I need I think. I hope at least it provides calm...

That sounds like a lot of fun! I'm pretty sure once you start the class, you'll find a great deal on a Spinning wheel.

Have fun Rudee! I think that would be a great activity...and you might be able to spin the yarn from raw cotton right? Then when you knit it will be all from your own hands! How wonderful. I like your new couches and color selection. Lovely. Enjoy your new place. <3

Always great to try new things. I have a friend who has a spinning wheel which she uses on occasion. But she much prefers the drop spindle.

Sounds like selfcare to me. You go, girl!

Ooooh!! Spinning! I'm still at the "talking about it for years" stage. I figure I'll wait another 15 months or so and then start. Maybe. After all, I only recently figured out what roving was.

*grin* Enjoy!
