Getting ahead of myself

News flash: Metro Detroit had a visit from a bright heavenly body today. The sky was blue and the sun shone down upon us all day long. I know for many that this is no big deal, but in Detroit, it was major. We haven't seen the sun in a week.

We've had a few more inches of the white stuff to add to the previous few inches of snow to add to the couple of inches that fell before this. It never seems to get warm enough to melt.

The cold and snow helped me get a jump on Cloud Chaser. I've knit half of the back and hope to have the entire back finished tonight. The fronts are cleverly done by picking up stitches along each side and then that collar, the star of the show, really, is knit onto the piece by joining the collar to the sweater every other row as it's knit. Since I sort of did that with my Ruby shawl, I think I know what I'm in for, but I'm a little intimidated by the instructions. I'll just plod along and cross those bridges I'm unsure of when I get to them.

Though I'm still hopeful about the outcome of Groundhog's Day, I'm afraid whatever news that furry rat brings will be given with a dose of snow. About a foot of it is forecast for Tuesday night into Wednesday. While he may not see his shadow, I know darned well he's a fickle creature.

Never trust a rat.

Shadow play

I'd like to clear one thing up....

I was completely misunderstood when I said, and I quote, "I wish it would just snow and get it over with. I hate this one or two inches of snowfall mess two times a week."

I was just joshin'.

That is very pretty. Lovely way to spend the weekend. I bet your sun is deceitful about warmth.

I remember weeks without sun in Rochester, NY then when it came out we all walked around squinting like mole people.

We are getting the same storm. Tomorrow we'll get groceries and hunker down for a few days. I started a new knitting project also with Noro Kuryon. The colors make ma happy. I must post soon...:)

Seeing the sun come out makes a big difference, especiallly when it hasn't been seen for a while. At least you have some lovely knitting to keep you warm while it snows

After three lovely spring like days, a new front approaches with terrible promises of more snow.

I have not had nearly as much snow as you but I still long for spring.

The sweater is looking great. I think most of the country is sick of this weather. Our week is predicted to be a real nightmare. Ice and power outages and snow and then more ice and snow. And no sun...

Beautiful! Wow, you chose well when selecting color!

Sorry about the snow, but it is so beautiful.

The sun makes all the difference. People here have been known to forget a whole month of rainy days with the appearance of a few rays. Hope it warms a little.

Your Cloud Chaser is perfect for keeping that warm feeling. Love it.

We had sun yesterday and today! It's still really cold, but I don't care as much when I have to wear my sunglasses :)
