Leo McSissybritches

Hey! Did she just call me a sissy?

Apparently, Leo doesn't like snow. Twice this morning, I've had to shove him out the back door when ordinarily, he bolts out to bark at Isaac the Pit. This is not good as the flurries that are dusting the lawn are not what I consider real snow.

I have to remind myself that I'm still getting to know this quirky beastie boy.

Maybe I should knit him some socks.

Maybe it will ruin his manicure?

When we adopted Holli, she was 6 years old and had never seen snow (she lived in KY before moving to MN). The first couple of times it snowed, she was terrified. Then something clicked--now she loves it. The first snow this year she paused in the doorway, and then just flew out into the yard, running around and around. Silly thing.

You wouldn't have to push Buddha out the door. He would rush out on his own. And then he would turn around and try to come back in again. Buddha thinks water is good for drinking only. Snow is just frozen water.

It always makes me giggle when Buddha gets all hunched and ears back when all that's happened is that one or two snowflakes have fallen on him. At these times or whenever we meet a puddle and he so carefully walks around it or jumps over it so as to avoid getting his feet wet, I say to him, "You're half Lab!" And he gives my words a butt-wiggle of recognition, but offers no explanation or excuse.

ours doesn't like a dusting of snow, but now it comes up to his tummy, he goes really scatty.

They know, don't they. Very intelligent creatures! Our 4 collies love the snow but it's us humans that hate it!

I'm with Leo. Just saying. I was born and raised in New England. I moved to Florida in 1975 and discovered there really IS a pleasant alternative to freezing cold winters! OK. I DO miss the snow on Christmas Eve through New Years Eve, but then I want it to be gone until the next year.

If I may speak for Leo..."You've obviously confused the word Dobie with Dummy, and I'm no Dummy!"

Socks AND a sweater - poor dear...

Yes! Socks and sweater would be a great way to use up some stash. Maybe something like a fisherman's guernsey for those wet days.

He needs rubber boots and a raincoat and some knitted items. Then take a photo for us.

I heard that Dobies do not like cold weather. My SIL made a coat for my sister's Dobie. THeir coat is so thin compared to other dog's coats.

I hope he get accustomed to the snow.

We had a German Shepard that when he saw rain for the first time he backed in the house and crossed his legs.

Send him to me, Rudee; we'll toughen him up and he'll be very very nice to you when he comes home :)
