What's wrong with this picture?

A boy and his dawg in more respectful times just two days ago.

Leo has been crated off and on today for safety reasons. When he gets rambunctious, he says hello to the interior of his crate. We can't chance that he'll jump on my son and tear the flaps newly made by the eye surgeon just this afternoon.

While my son has been trying to sleep off the effects of valium, Leo has been freed from his cell. When the boy woke up and wanted to eat, I went to the kitchen to make him a dish full of delicious leftovers. On the plate was turkey, mashed potatoes, and all that was left of the stuffing and green bean casserole. I delivered a dish of cranberry waldorf salad to my son while the rest of his dish was getting ready for the microwave. I dawdled to put in his eye drops...

...and returned to the kitchen to find my son's dinner had been snarfed up by his four legged friend.

As you can see, barely a crumb was left behind, and that only because I interrupted the pig in the middle of his crime.

Still not full, and apparently ever hopeful, the beast is begging here for dessert.

Naughty dawg. Poor six eyed young son.

Tomorrow morning, the granny glasses and eye shields come off and with a little luck, the boy should see at least 20/20.

Wishing your son a speedy recovery. Maybe the dog thought he wouldn't notice if his plate was empty!

I've had such a laugh over this - it's awfully hard to chastise a dog as gorgeous as that, especially as he appreciates your cooking so much! I'm sure my border terrier would do the same but he can't reach the table or kitchen work surfaces. Hope your son wasn't too disappointed with his salad...

Leo is quite creative in his acquirements.

Wishing your son great success and great vision.

Wish he recovers soon and I am sure he will. I lost my heaping plate of food too that I had planned to bring home from our daughter's house. Another daughter ran into me and food went flying everywhere. Oh well I did not need all those calories 2 days in a row. That Leo is beautiful.

Having had dogs for 35+ years, and now cats, I totally understand how that happens. I just don't understand how to stop it. Perhaps a knitted muzzle?

I hope your son has a wonderful surgical outcome!

I hope your son's eyes recover quickly.

Leo? What can you say about him? Typical dobie behavior, but what can you do except love him.

I don't think Leo knows he is a dog.

He looks just like I looked after my cataract surgery, albeit he is more handsome. Don't panic if it's not 20/20 right away, sometimes it takes a couple of days and I found out. Oh yes, Leo...quite a doggy...ciao
