Careful what you ask for...

Never in my life have I seen a grown adult with normal appendages (and I'm talking about the tips of fingers) take a drill to grind his fingernails.

Never.

I guess I've seen it all now and can pretty much go anytime.

Incidentally, there is no truth to the rumor that Nurse Rudee took any joy in jabbing Lovenox in the belly of her private duty patient.

None at all.

You are too funny! You DID use the proper-sized needle, didn't you? Regardless, you know you are going to be blamed for the inevitable bruising.

Funny, I saw someone do that in a movie recently. I was no more impressed than you were!

Dremel or big drill? ("This could work!" he thinks to himself)

i had a hospice patient who solved the 'ants on the kitchen counter problem' by taking a blow torch to them. right in front of my eyes. amaaazing. and just a tad scary! i'm sure this same patient would have applauded a drill to the fingernails :) I adored this guy..i wish he was still alive so that i could tell him about the drill/nails thing..

Too bad Lovenox is subQ! Sorry, that was entirely uncalled for.

Were they really trying to file their nails or obliterate their finger prints?

I shudder to think. Eek. Then again Bill Engval said it best "I'm just a guy." But I think Lisa has you beat with the blow torch/ants thing. heehee

And you know - I heard that rumor too...but I didn't believe it either. ::wink::

I had to look up lovenox. It is amazing what people do. I would imagine that most nurses or anyone working in the medical field has many stories to tell. I have heard that some people do actually need to have it spelled out to them what taking meds orally means. Like what else would you do with it??

At least your job has some outlet to relieve stress! Jabbing a cranky person could be fun, I'm sure. Hope you survive your father in law's latest temper tantrum.

Dog owners sometimes use a tool called a dremel to trim their dog's claws. I've never heard of a person doing this, however!
