I Sharpened My Pencil

Have you noticed my countdown clock lately?  It seems it's all I can notice as I count down the days, soon to be hours, to my staycation.  As a little bonus, I have to go to a pain conference on Thursday, so I don't have to work until midnight.  My vacation officially begins at 4 PM on Thursday afternoon.

I'm making a list of things I've simply got to do:
  • Start and finish a pair of Monkey socks
  • Finish a pair of Can-Can mitts (mostly done)
  • Finish the thick and thin sweater
  • Finish Sebba's sweater
  • Felt that scarf
  • Knit and felt a hat
  • Attend a benefit silent auction and say goodbye to Ruby
  • Start the Peacock Shawl--I just knew this would be tough when the instructions begin with the warning, "some knitting required."
  • Finish Start plying the latest batch of yarn I spun.
  • Finish spinning Boomer
  • Make and freeze the beef stock for Thanksgiving dinner
  • Make and freeze the pie crusts for Thanksgiving dinner
  • Sleep late every day
  • Read Vince Flynn's new book
  • Learn how to do Fair Isle knitting
  • Take a fall drive
There.  That should be enough to keep me busy for a few days.  Did I leave anything out?

How long did you say your vacation was anyway? That's a long list. . .

Yes, you forgot one thing. Email me or write a post about Dan Brown's new book. I want to know what you thought about it. I haven't bought it yet. Since Vince Flynn's book is on your list, I am assuming you finished Brown's book. BTW...Flynn's book is not at the bookstores yet. Did you get an early copy?
All those knitting projects make me feel like such a slacker....
Hope you take your computer or IPhone with you to keep us up to date on your vacation.

Long and interesting list. Peacock Shawl caught my attention. Even thinking of Thanksgiving already. You amaze me Rudee. Enjoy!

Hmmm...don't think I saw anything about making delicious egg breakfasts on that list...

That's a lot of knitting plans! Holy cow! Go for it!

Miss-you think?

Rose--it's 10 glorious days

Brenda--Dan Brown's book was just OK. Flynn's book is on sale today. 70% of those knitting projects only need finishing. I started Sara's sweater 11 months ago. Talk about a slacker!

Renie--that peacock shawl is beautiful.

Amy--and you won't see plans like that!

Sounds like a wonderful way to spend your days. Hope you have a wonderful time. When I worked, I always enjoyed STAYcations the most.
Hope you're doing well

You know me, Sister Jeanne. Knitting IS relaxing. So is spinning--well spinning everything except Boomer. That's not very enjoyable since he makes me itch, but I do want to finish it for Kim.

Hey, Betty! Long time, no see. I hope you're feeling well.
