One week,
countless hours (somehow, I seem to have lost a few of these),
minimal fudging, (there have been some blips, but none worth ripping the darned thing out to fix-I fudge them when I find them),
too big already to spread out on 47 inch circular needles,
and 10, 720 stitches later, I am approaching the halfway point-at least in terms of row count, not stitch count.
Who cares about dust bunnies, empty cupboards, overdue oil change, dirty clothes and late paperwork? Not I, says the girl with smoke coming from her needles.

Beautiful. I'm so with you on fudging. If you want something absolutely perfect, get something made by machine and cheap labor in China. It's been my experience that I am the only one who can find the flubs, and sometimes even I can't find them.
I can understand your continuous knitting on this project. At this point, there is a lot of knitting before getting to a good stopping place.

Dust bunnies will wait, and like their cute little animal counterparts, will multiply. Fudging is merely coming up with creative solutions to problems. Passions, however, don't wait---and shouldn't.

Just gorgeous, Rudee! The color gets prettier as the shawl grows.
As for fudging - I always thought that was the sign of an experienced knitter. Kind of a "know when to hold 'em, know when to fold 'em" thing.
And old-time quilters used to always make sure there was at least one flub left in since only God is perfect.

I'd fudge too if it was me. You've "made" me start something lacey, grrr. I don't have the right needles though so I've put it aside for now. I find lace doesn't work with bamboo needles somehow, it's too thin. Tomorrow I'll hunt down some Addi turbo's...ciao
Your works are so impressive! In my Speech class, one of my students gave a demo on knitting. She'd brought in a giant American flag. When my kids are out of the house, and I get my sewing room/office, I am going to learn!
This is an amazing accomplishment. Makes me think of my Nonna. She was a wonder of blazing needles as well.
Who needs to worry about dust bunnies when you can create such loveliness.

Yowza! Do you get into a "zone" when you do this level of detail? For me, the tinier the beads, the more relaxed I feel. So counterintuitive, but true.
