Too Much Blood in His Alcohol Level

Since neighbors have been an issue for us for the past 15 years, it should come as no surprise that we have some neighbor issues over at the new place.  I swear- I don't go looking for trouble, but perhaps, upon reflection, I may be a s#!t magnet.  I'm almost sure of it.

Last night, at 1:30 in the morning, I heard wailing.  Coming out of a deep sleep, my first thought was that as cute as he is, Mr. Mocha Latte is a pain in the butt, and what I was hearing was a cat fight.  As the noise became louder, accompanied by pounding, it became clear that this was not two cats going at it, it was decidedly human noise interfering with my slumber.  I think it was the repeated use of the F word.  And the MF word.  Maybe it was the BS word.  Anyway, as a screen door slammed and the voices trailed down the street, I thought I'd heard the worst of  this heated discussion, so I went back to sleep.

At 1:40, just as I was drifting off, the voices returned with a vengeance and so did the pounding.  Thoroughly irritated, I got out of bed and tried to wait it out.  After 15 minutes, the situation was going downhill, so we called the police.  I think the entire on duty police force showed up, indicating that perhaps we weren't the only ones calling for an end to this middle of the night nonsense-every house in the neighborhood was lit up like it was Christmas. The officers were very cordial to the drunkard next door.  They gave him every opportunity to stop shouting and encouraged him to go inside and go to bed.  For about 10 minutes, they cajoled him and comforted him in his stupor.  Once again, the neighborhood was quiet, so they turned to leave.  The officers didn't even get to their squad cars when the dolt started screaming out his profanities again. Funny though, he did quiet down right away when they cuffed him and dragged him off to the local jail.  God bless those boys in blue.

I can pick 'em, can't I?

May I refer you to my "neighbors" series? Oldies but goodies.

Wouldn't be great to just be able to live in peace and quiet with a modicum of intelligence in the hood? I feel your pain.

Tho the thorn in my side is more like the spawn of Sanford and son. Bringing the property values way down. Drinks beer and listens to rave "music" all day long. Yells obscenities at his kids. Throws his garbage in my shrubs.

I gotta stop...it gets me all riled up. I'm glad your nuisance got carted away. I keep praying...

Sillliyak- you win.

Pyzahn- you win too. Maybe I'll just buy earplugs and consider myself blessed.

Well, at least they took him away for the rest of the night. Unfortunately I guess he'll be back soon. It's awful to be held hostage to idiots whose habits impinge on peace and quiet. Hope tonight is more peaceful.

I just have neighbours that decide to have their domestics in the middle of the night. They don't even care if it's inside or outside.

I don't know how we lucked out but our neighbors are wonderful - it is the ones from outside the neighborhood that like to hang out at the play ground in the middle of the night that get the cops called on them.

Invariably the non emergency line at the Sherriff's office will say "Thank you Mrs. Pooldad they have already been dispatched, you are the 10th caller." :) hee

I love the title - made me chuckle.

You don't have real good luck with neighbors! I've had some doozies too in our 30 years. Glad all is quiet these days.

Gee, Rudee, what a pain! I don't have any 2 legged close neighbors, and the 4 legged ones may be moochers, but they keep their language clean!

Could be a long, hot summer...and not in the Paul Newman kind of way. Funny, you never see those scenerios played out in the alcohol commercials.
BTW, my dear,...Tag--You're IT!!! (imagine the sound of footsteps running away...) I've tagged you for a meme over at my place to do only IF and WHEN you have time, IF and WHEN you feel like it. Enjoy your day and thank you for your visits and comments over my way:>)

I hope you don't take it as a competition, it was a 10+ year compilation after all. The new replacement neighbor is an artist, very interesting, mostly quiet except for some barking of dogs. (See "My Neighbor the Artist") Hey I have to do SOMETHING to get SOMEONE to visit my blog!

Wow, what a terrible thing to have neighbours like that. We are lucky I guess, we've only had one bad neighbour ever. We do have however, the "skater boys" as I call them who skateboard down our hilly street in the middle of the night most summer nights. I've decided to ignore them and just put in the earplugs...ciao

Was there are full moon out? I blame many things on that. Hopefully it was an isolated incident.

Having had really awful neighbors at one time in my life, I know this can be pretty hard on your mental health. I'm knocking on wood as I rejoice in the truly wonderful neighbors we now have.

Flydragon- I know. Sniff.

Renie-I'm insanely jealous of your neighbor situation.

Rositta- you need speed bumps and spikes.

Brenda- no full moon to my knowledge, but at least it rained all night to help keep things quiet.

Good neighbours are a real blessing that we don't appreciate till we find ourselves with the other kind! Ours are cat haters and we are cat owners. Now that just spells trouble doesn't it! Unfortunately the boys in blue don't handle these problems.
Hopefully your problem will be under more control in future.

Hummm. We had some neighbors like that once. The great thing about being military and living on base is that eventually one of you is going to move within at least a year or two.

Well that was fun to read but probably not to hear. My neighborhood use to be loud like that, but my kids grew up and moved away, hehe.

Mary Alice, you are blessed.

Sandy-too funny.
