What a week it's been for your friendly on call hospice nurse. I haven't been worked this hard in awhile. I'm not whining
For some reason, around 9 PM tonight, I had an overwhelming desire to throw my phone down an elevator shaft. I was trying to write orders, manage calls for problems that should have been handled during the day, and smile at doctors giving me walk-by referrals. I swore every time my phone rang and as soon as it was silent, I thought about it ringing and because I thought about it ringing, it did. It was a no-win situation.
Time to stop b!tching.
You remember this, right? It was my fledgling shawl just a couple of weeks ago.
It looks like this now and I don't think my best friend can continue to call it a shower cap anymore. It's beyond that. Once again, I've lost count of the stitches, but at least I'm on top of the rows. I am being encouraged to finish it and enter it in the Michigan State Fair. It makes my heart beat fast to think it even stands a chance. I'm worried that just like the phone ringing when I think about it curse, that something will happen to burst my bubble with this shawl. Best not to not think of entering it in a fair until I've knit the last stitch.

Sure does sound like a tough week. Love the cartoon! I felt like that all week, too. But it's the weekend-yahooooo...oh yeah, need to clean house.
oooohhhh Rudee, that is gorgeous. Love that color. Would look particularly nice next to a blue ribbon...no pressure...
That's great that you have your State Fair still does that kind of exhibit and prizes. Our fair here stopped doing that kind of thing years ago. Hope the knitting helps to stay calm...
I think you should enter it. Just entering and not winning an award is good also. Or I would feel that way about a quilt, anyway.

What a week it sounds like you. Hopefully you will be blessed with a better week coming up. I bet you look forward to the day you can retire. Your shawl is coming along...hope you feel it is worthy to be in the fair, cause I bet it will be.

Distracted-what pressure? hah. I have until August 6th to enter it. I hear one of the judges will be someone who spins at the same place I do. I wonder if I can bribe her with fluff?
Stephanie-I forgot all about the fair, but the store owner where I spin is encouraging me to enter. If it looks as good off of the needles as it does on, I will.
Brenda-you're right. At least, an honorable mention would be nice, but just in case, I'll stock up on fluff.
Sandy-I'm off to check the lotto numbers right now. I can't wait to retire.
That is definitely a blue ribbon shawl, no question. It will look lovely when it's blocked. I love your spinning as well, the color is gorgeous. Nice wheel...ciao
