The weather this weekend was glorious. Relatively cool, there was just the right amount of warmth from the sun-perfect really. With the lilacs blooming in the back, my deck was the best place to spend a little time. I spent yesterday with my best friend just sitting in the sun,
On the knitting front, I've been feeling a bit guilty for starting things I've haven't finished. Last night, I spent a few hours rectifying that problem by finishing the Monkey socks I've been knitting for Sebba. The near perfection I achieved in terms of the stripes surprises even me. This may be as good as it gets and really? Thats good enough for me.
Next up-the circular lace pi shawl with 800,000 stitches on the needles. All kidding aside, I'm only about 30,000 stitches away from finishing this. If I'd get a little busy today, I could probably knock that down to 28,000 by the time I have to go to work.

Oh...I LOVE the socks. I haven't knitted any socks because I keep hearing nightmares of "turning the heel." I'll have to try some before next winter.
Right now I'm doing a beaded silk scarf. Wouldn't you know the yarn had TWO knots where the yarn was joined together? Discovered, of course, after I had strung fifty thousand beads on. OK, I exaggerated, but it was a lot of beads.
Love the socks! They remind me of sherbet ice cream...yum. Glad you had a kick back weekend. Our weather has been a little too cool, but ok. Hope it will be nice for Mother's Day for all of us hard working Mom's. Our families can spoil us and take us out right?? Hope so!

My lilacs have all dropped off; we must be about 3-4 weeks ahead, weather wise. And not to copy, but I finished socks too! Yours look great! Glad you had a good weekend!
Thanks for including that Kentucky Derby clip. I'd heard about it but didn't see it. Just love it when the long shot wins. Looking at your socks makes me want to learn to knit.
Oh, I can just smell those lilacs from looking at them, and the socks are adorable! Wish I could knit a pair or two like them. My younger granddaughters would get a kick out of them!

Those are some fine socks! I'm not a horse racing fan, but the thought of an unknown pony from New Mexico coming out of the woodwork makes me smile.
