What are the odds...

  1.  I would have a second relatively new appliance quit in the same week?
  2.  That I could not literally throw in the towel because, hey, they are all in the appliance that quit working?
  3.  That I would nonchalantly shrug it off, make an appointment for repair (Thursday is the soonest), and hang my clean laundry out to dry in the scorching heat?
  4.  That as soon as I got the laundry hung over the rails, it would begin to rain?  A deluge.
  5.  That the moment the skies opened up, I was outside checking the lint thingymajig to be sure a bird hadn't nested in there?
  6.  That I am now soaked and so are the towels?

I give up.

Where you're concerned I'd say the odds are pretty high!

Oh no! Rudee, I feel so sorry for you. I know exactly how that feels, cos yesterday I kept hanging out and taking back in (wetter) some trousers. In the end, I hung them over a clothes horse and hey! they were dry this morning!
Dare I say Happy 4th of July? I do..Happy 4th!

Somehow I just can't feel badly about the rain. The rest is awful!!!

As they say "It never rains but it pours"!

Today is the first time I've hung washing out for about 3 months. It's rained almost every day since April. Think I'll be building an ark soon. I do hope you get your washer fixed soon. Was it the washer or the drier?

When all else fails...sit in a chair and knit or spin. I had the washer go out while all the towels were soaking wet. Hauled the heavy load to the laundromat and had to do laundry there for a week or so until the new one came. It just made me feel grateful that we don't live in the days where we had to wash clothes in the river or in a tub. My Mom washed clothes in a tub with a scrub board. Hope your luck gets better Rudee!

It sounds like a covered wagon story. You should be wearing a bonnet. There should be clouds of dust rising all around you and the faint sound of Indian drums in the distance.

Okay, obviously I'm a city girl. I think a broken washer is equal to traveling the Oregon Trail in 1862 or whatever.

Time to show up at a relative's house with a pillowcase of wet towels and your own soap.

After more consideration, if these are all electronic problems, you might have your electrical service checked for voltage fluctuations/problems

Oh, rats! don't you hate it when that happens? You don't sound as ill-humored as I might have been.

Another appliance? That's just crazy

Makes you want to drink, and I don't mean iced tea, doesn't it?

In the lull between storms when the sky was blue and the sun was out, I went to the post office and grocery store for a few items. In that short amount of time the next storm came rolling in.

Silly me, I pulled into McDonald's just as the storm intensified. The speaker where orders are taken was on the side of the building where rain was being driven off the roof. In the seconds it took to order a McDouble and a large diet Coke, rain came in my window as if someone dumped a 5 gallon bucket of water on me. I have never gotten that wet under those circumstances, especially in so little time.

My clothes were no sooner dry (in the dryer) when hubby came home from his canceled golf game. He was wet clear through to his skin so the dryer got use again.

I hope your repair isn't too costly. I'll have drinks ready when you are. ;-)

Lordy! You have indeed hit a bad streak of luck. On the positive side...there's plenty of room for things to get better. Hope it's sooner rather than later.

I would gladly go for the wet towels if it would only rain. No rain down here for weeks. All around but not within 10 miles of my neck of the woods. Both my washer and dryer went out at the same time and the day they were due to be delivered my dishwasher went out. We called and told them what we wanted and got all thee delivered at the same time. At 75 I am hoping that is the last time forever. I will take a glass of white wine. Thank you

I have come to the conclusion, after exhaustive research, that an all Whirlpool appliance home, will provide for the least amount of breakdowns.
