What is that?

Is it the latest thing in home furnishings?

Is it a holiday card holder? Double click that picture--I'll wait. The sentiment on the inside says, "I wouldn't wait up for the Easter Bunny this year." Bwahahahaha.

Back to our guessing game...is it a candle centerpiece?

Is it the latest in hat fashion? Ooh. Could be, and just in time for the royal wedding this week.

Look how nicely it nestles the sock monkey. Really though, that sock monkey only disguises a bottle of wine.

Speaking of monkeys, is this a hidey-hole for the hear no evil, see no evil, speak no evil trio?

Or how about a center stage for my cheesy flamingo salt and pepper shakers?

Here it is naked, looking nothing like the cherry pie that was requested for dessert. Now if you ask what you can bring, and the hostess tells you cherry pie, why in the world would you choose this as a substitute?

Three guesses--and the first two don't count--on who brought this for dessert.

You know the Elizabethan collar you put on the dog to keep him from licking his newly neutered privates?

You know how they've come out with a puffy, quilted version of the collar that accomplishes the same task without scarring the paint on your walls?

I think the thing you've featured in this blog post is your bakery version of the Elizabethan collar. I'm sorry. I don't like to smack down new inventors. But it won't work. And it's ugly, so no one will buy it. Don't give up your day job.

I believe if someone promises to bring cherry pie and then shows up without said cherry pie that death is the only suitable punishment.

Well Ari, it definitely wouldn't work as the only member of the household who was intrigued by the smell of this, was the dog. It would have been snarfed up in a heartbeat if the dog didn't have to be crated because of a certain visitor who hates him.

I don't know [nor do I want to] what the hell that is, giggle, or who brought it [why?] but your flamingo salt and pepper shakers sure are purty. :D

Can you really put hard boiled eggs in a bread roll and in the oven?

Interesting.

Oh and my guess is your FIL. That's all I got.

We all know who it was. I hope you didn't feed him. Maybe you should have crated him with the doggy. No wait, that would have bee too cruel for poor doggy...ciao

Cherry pie would have been a lot better

I knew what it was immediately. They sell that in the stores back home this time of year.

I say, make them go back and get that cherry pie!!

Hope you had a nice Easter.

I remember seeing those wreaths when we lived in Wisconsin. Can't remember what they're called since I thought of them only as centerpieces. Never have cared for hardboiled eggshells in my coffeecake!

I suppose you could shellac it and hang it on the front door next year.

Love your dog pictures, by the way... and am horrified by the old bat in the miniskirt. YOWSAH!!!

Yes, sir. May I interest you in a nice Cherry Pie for your Easter dinner. Oh, no, no! I am looking for a round clump of bread with some hard boiled eggs stuck in it. It is my daughter-in-law's favorite. Well, sir, we do have one left. We are currently using it as a door stop.

It could be the latest class of flying saucer.

Oh, I'm afraid to admit that I once baked one of these. My daughter found a photo/recipe in a mag when she was (much) younger. Mine didn't look too bad but the baked eggs were very weird and hard.

This is the second time I've seen one of these on the blogosphere in a week - scary! I would probably eat the bread part, but that could just be my carboholic self.

I'm speechless. Are those real colored hard boiled eggs?

Hope someone found something better for dessert - Cheery pie would have been delicious.
