As of April 4th, I'll be homeless. I need to get off my lazy arse and find a home. Soon. I've been trolling Craigslist and I've come up with a couple of options. Esthetically, I love this house. Look at that porch! I can see myself sitting out there, sipping iced tea while I knit in the summers. The only drawback I can see is it's on a main street. The ad says it's zoned residential but would be a great place for a business with 17,000 cars passing by daily. The home is in a very popular suburb that offers much to do and is within walking distance to a very hip downtown area. The most AMAZING thing is it's about a half a mile from my favorite yarn store. I'd be able to walk to classes there. I know if I were closer, I'd be there all the time. Hey! Maybe they're hiring....

I love that house! Busy's not bad; who knows, maybe you'll set up a business!!
It was always my dream to work in a LYS, not sure I would have had wages to take homw! Hope all goes well with the house hunting
Rose, this house was built in 1917. I think that makes it a dream home.
Miss, I agree about a job with a LYS.
what a great porch! And old houses often have wonderful features and character.
I didn't realize you had to move so soon. Love that front porch!!
Walking to your favorite yarn store for classes? Not to buy stuff for your stash, tho, right?
Homeless? Geez, I musta missed something.
Location, location, location. Its as important to a home as it is to a business. Intent would be a determination. What you intend to do there.
I live next to a freeway and a busy street. The oily crap in the air covers everything. I can only imagine what it does to lungs. And the noise. omg... its so noisy I have a hard time hearing people or the tv. Insulation or lack of is very important as well.
I'm sure we'll all be wish you good luck in finding your perfect home.
Beautiful house...but yes, the traffic would be a major drawback.
Keep us posted! ooops no pun intended!
CC- I intend to live there. We're turning our home into an assisted living home for my daughter and 3 other developmentally challenged young women.
Great house! I hope you show us all the houses you will be looking at, yeah..inside and out okay???
Flydragon, my yarn drought ends officially in 16 days. I cannot with good conscious boycott the local yarn stores. If we all did, they'd go out of business and then where would I be?
I love that house, it looks almost exactly like my offspring's house in Calgary. I have a thing for porches. Living within walking distance of stores is a real bonus. Good luck in making your decision...ciao
Its beautiful. Do it :)
I too was a little confused by this post (until I read your explanation to CC). I knew about the assisted living arrangements, I just didn't realise it meant you had to move out. That's quite a sacrifice.
That looks a lovely house. Would love to live somewhere like that. I really shouldn't blog after 3 large glasses of wine. I don't drink that often so it has a bad effect. However you have to be sociable at an ABBA disco/karaoke night don't you?
Well, this does sound exciting! You guys are a few years younger than we are, but I must warn you stairs are not my friend anymore. I would love to have a ranch or one level house. (Knees) Hope you take some vacation time for the move!
Great exterior. Wow, but couldn't you get use to that traffic....
