I'm going on 8 months at my current job and I'm pleased to say, I'm not jaded yet. Yesterday while making my way home, I had a major disagreement with Tim, my GPS device. I really didn't want to go the route he wanted me to take home. This mechanical little man was trying to send me down the worst streets in the city. I completely ignored him and chose the safer, more populated route, and took us past a crime scene in progress. Perhaps Tim knew something I didn't.
There were police cars everywhere, and the scene was cordoned off with crime scene tape. Nobody else slowed, but I did. Listening to the news today, I got the report and I was surprised, and a little sad. Seems a store owner took offense to a homeless man urinating outdoors, while on his property, so he shot him. Dead. Over pee.

Sounds like the movie Gran Torino. Priorities can get so skewed so quickly. Or as my husband says "man's inhumanity to man". Hope your day is a good one
Not very pleasant, but a slight overreaction
Is Tim a genius or a psychic??? I see some evidenced-based research coming our way. The fun kind though, not the kind about what size blood pressure cuff is most accurate--like we even have different sizes available all the time. But REAL research about just what the hell do GPS systems really know. Maybe he could lead you to the Seven-Eleven with the winning lottery ticket.
Blessings to the homeless man and his shooter. Yesterday was full of a lot of trauma here also.
Not one of those "feel good" stories, but a sad fact of life. Sad fate for both of them.
I bet this occurred South of 7 mile. In the nicest area of town!
Oh wow, that's said, dead over pee. You should listen to Tim.
Rose, I haven't seen Gran Torino yet.
Miss, I agree.
Distracted-GPS is a tool of the devil? Big Brother? I love it because there are no street signs left in Detroit-they've all been stolen and sold as scrap, but I hate it because "someone" knows exactly where I am. I would love to know the numbers to this week's 120 Million dollar jackpot.
Anon-ding,ding ding. You are the winner of Guess Where Rudee Was. It was actually 6 and Gratiot, but you were close enough.
Brenda and Sandy-it's a sad commentary. The victim was 36 and the shooter 69. Sheesh. What a waste.
So sad. A very costly overreaction.
OH that's awful!
Good grief that's horrendous. What on earth makes people react like that?
