Full Moon Hospice Smack Down

I know I haven't been around for a bit. I wish I could share what's been going on, but some things are better left unsaid. Suffice it to say, it's been a rough week, and it's not over yet. I topped off my busy shift tonight with a visit to someone who is convinced her house is haunted by a malevolent ghost. I was even shown photographic evidence. Alrighty then. It was a bizarre looking image of a man with unnatural facial features on a cell phone photograph.

Do you recall last Halloween season when I was driving down Cemetery Road, sort of lost and way out of my territory in a wicked wind and rain storm? Or the night I was sent to a campground to see a patient right after watching Zombieland that very afternoon? This one beat them both and made the hairs on my arms stand up. I was completely spooked, and so was my driver.

To center myself, I went home, shut off the phone and computer and settled in to watch Martin Scorcese's documentary on my favorite Beatle. The film is titled, George Harrison: Living in a Material World. If you have HBO, don't miss this beautiful film. It truly is a lovely tribute to a different kind of spirit.

It was just the thing I needed to counteract my experience tonight, and, hey, he was and still is my favorite Beatle. Who was your favorite?

I hope it will get better soon. And stay off Cemetery Road. Spooky.

[I know it was last year, but still. heehee]

I can't say I ever had a favorite Beatle. I like them all equally. Always thought Ringo was a bit of an underdog - but yep. Would've run off with any of them in heartbeat.

I am beginning to believe in those spirits myself, having seen a couple photos that made my skin crawl.

Concert for George. I can't say it enough. If you've seen the movie, you need to get the DVD, which also features the entire concert, beginning to end, and the really haunting (sorry) sitar music composed by Ravi Shankar, and performed by his other daughter, that's not Norah Jones.

I have experienced a few ghostly episodes and it is some scary stuff.

What is it about a full moon that brings out all of the craziness?

My favorite Beatle was Paul.

I hope things get better at work.

I thought you were going to say you caught the first few innings of the Tiger/Ranger game then came back at the end.... Paul and I share a birthday, but different year.

I liked Mike the best! Oh wait - he was a Monkee not a Beatle. Hmmm.

Hope things improve - for you AND your ghost ridden patient!

I've had encounters with patients seeing ghosts that made my hairs prickle. Spooky.

My favorite is Jimmy. Whoops, wrong band. :)

Well...I was wondering how you were doing. Hope all is well. When the Beatles first arrived here I was in the 8th grade and we all had pins that we wore of our favorite Beatle. I chose Ringo because everyone else chose Paul or John. Over the many years since then I appreciate them all. My hubby has all of their albums. Stay safe Rudee!

George was always - and remains - my favorite Beatle. I was considered somewhat strange among my classmates for such unorthodox (read non-Paul) fancies. I always thought of him as the 'thinking girl's' Beatle.

Stay safe - and out of range of those cellphone ghosts. Yikes!

Sorry your luck has run cold and hope things improve soon.

My favorite Beatle has always been John Lennon.

I sympathize with you; my week is like a roller coaster here too. George was my favorite; so sensitive.

I do remember last year Rudee. I don't believe anything I see in a photo anymore since photoshop. LoL
One never knows. I liked all the Beatles too but GH is pretty special on his own. Guess you have rain up there also.

There are many things we do not know...some things they swear are true. It is too scary to imagine.

Full moon madness is proof of some things we cannot see that are very real.

On Andrew: I blame the adults' training these children to think meaness is the answer...What happened to, it's only a game?

Have a fantastic weekend.
