They say...

That which doesn't kill us makes us stronger.

I was almost done in by this project, but finish it I have.  I also have tendonitis in my right elbow courtesy of repetitive motion.  Though you cannot tell because it's not yet blocked, there are beads, Estonian nupps and miles of lace.  OK, I exaggerate...only around 1,300 yards or so.  I do believe I'm a stronger knitter because I stuck it out.  While Knitty calls this pattern "Piquant", I think it's really "Extra Spicy."  Your mileage may vary.

Pattern:  Aeolian
Yarn: Findley Dappled lace weight in Wisteria.  162 grams
Beads: Czech iridescent multi-blues size 8
Needles:  3.5mm Addi turbo lace

Hope you're all well and knitting your summer away!

That shawl is beautiful. I do believe it does make you stronger to finish something that is difficult. Way to go.

Been missing you on blogging. It is great to see a post from you.

It is beautiful Rudee, well worth the effort to finish it. You'll value it every time you wear it. Would love a close-up pic!

That is beautiful! I am working on Lisa Hoffman's Architectural Vest which isn't technically difficult but it is giving me fits. That chart is minuscule and my scanner wasn't working when I tried to copy and print an enlarged version. I have the back and left front done and something about the right front doesn't sound/look right. The head of our knitting group is either more like than me than I thought, or it really is the directions. I will be stronger AND thankful when this is done.

I am trying to figure out how difficult that will be to block. I love it!

That is absolutely gorgeous. Love this pattern and the colour. This was the first lace shawl pattern I maded & I was in a state of shock trying to finish it so I know exactly what you mean. Lace, beads AND nupps? I wouldn't call it piquant either, flippin' horrendous I'd say.

So glad to see you resurface. I've been worried about you and your loved ones.

Lovely, lovely shawl and it will be so versatile. Our local yarn shop is closing so I've been buying like crazy at reduced prices for "regular" customers. My husband laughs that I have several years worth!

Just catching up on things. Hope things are OK for you now sounds like you've had an awful time.

I've made this shawl a few times now & I love the pattern. It was the first lace shawl I ever knitted.

Love to you & your family hope you have a wonderful Christmas & a great year in 2014.
