Officially Crazy

I have begun my Christmas knitting. Not only that, I finished the first item.

The yarn is the sugar cane (very sweet) and the pattern is the Easy Drop Stitch Scarf. I do beg to differ with the title though, because sure, while it's simple and easy, after 20 pattern repeats, all I wanted to do was poke myself in the eye with a needle. This is the main reason I don't knit a lot of scarves. Those days are long gone. I much prefer the three hour neck warmer. It appeals to the hamster who apparently runs on that little wheel in my brain.

Anyways, one item in the Christmas basket, too many to go.

Now if you'll excuse me, I have a half completed poncho to finish knitting by Saturday.

Ya...right!

Love this pattern -the looseness of it, Rudee -where can I find this pattern? Thanks for writing me back!

Reminds me of "Under the Sea" in that it is wavy and the colors suit a beautiful coral reef [think Finding Nemo]

And for all sakes stay away from anything that makes you want to stab yourself. Doesn't make sense. :D

Jeannette, I linked the pattern in the post. It's on Ravelry and is a free pattern with an 8 row repeat that's easy to memorize.

Your version is very pretty. It has a golden glow. I made that one a while ago and I remember how boring it was. But I really like the effect.

It is a gorgeous piece of art. Definitely worth all the trouble.

Ah yes, the Christmas basket. I've started mine already too. I love your scarf, the colors are very pretty. I've got about six projects on the go right now, a bad case of ADD...ciao

I love this! Maybe I like repeats as I can combine them with trash tv and reading! Today I spent a fortune on Wendy Merino DK wool for a cricket slipover for my son, and I must be mad as I never bought such dear wool before - but it will be treasured by him and worn every Sunday (and washed every Monday as it'll be manky after a game no doubt!) and I will be challenged to make it before the end of the season (which starts this weekend!). Cost €3.99 per 50gm and I needed 16 balls in total! It's beautiful 100% merino machine washable(VIP point) wool.
All the best, Catherine.

I am so impressed.. You finish everything you start! I started this same scarf in Sept and got bored and never finished it! You motivate me.

It is great that you have begun your christmas knitting!
