I'm pondering the tile work here. I own a couple of pieces of Pewabic tile, and I think this may be the real deal. I don't know where the fireplace screen is hiding. I may have to buy one. The stained glass picture was made by my sister Mareseatoats. It was the first thing, besides the Dyson that I brought in here. Eventually it'll be hung in a window to catch the light.
I took 800,000 pictures of the kitchen. I'm a little disappointed they took the oven that was in there and swapped it out for a Henry Ford Museum piece. I may replace this, but I don't know what I'll do when it's time to move again. Perhaps I'll just make do for now.
Sebba went over there today with her girlfriend and cleaned the house from top to bottom. She busted her behind and I'm eternally grateful. She's a good girl and cleans like 10 Merry Maids put together. She expressed concern over the carcasses of 3 moths that she found-she's worried about my wool (and hers too).
On a different note, I've gotten someone to work for me every single day except next Wednesday. Starting tomorrow at midnight, I'm officially on vacation. Yeah, right.

That looks like a lovely house Rudee. Love all that wood, especially the floor. That picture is beatiful.
Happy housewarming.
I love the floors too Winifred. I need to buy a lot of area rugs though.
Yeah!!! Glad you are getting some time off from work. The house looks great!
I am in L.O.V.E. with your house!
I love the Craftsman touches. It is absolutely wonderful. I wish you happy healthy peace ful and loving days there.

Absolutely Gorgeous!! Happy vacation and happy new home:>)
Beautiful! I love that wood and your front room looks kind of like the reverse of mine with the staircase going up beside the front door.
I also like the stained glass piece.
I wish you much happiness in your new abode.

Oooh, I can almost taste it-I'm tired of packing and ready to unpack now. The movers are coming Tuesday. Yippee!!!!
The door is lovely! And your wood floors are beautiful too. That's one of the things I love about our house; I think the wood reflects a lot of light somehow. Good luck with the moving! Hope you have good weather for it.
Ohhhh loved seeing these pics and that kitchen is gorgeous! Also the fireplace. I will go follow that link when I'm done here. I love wood! Next house I get, I hope is a Craftsman.
Keep the pics coming!!!
I enlarged it and that's a beautiful stained glass piece.
O-M-G!
Sandy-my sister is quite the stained glass artist. I'm blessed to have this one since she doesn't work on it much anymore. I think she plans to get into it again when she finally retires.
Kathleen-I know. It's the same thing I said.
Rose-those floors were completely sunlit today. I'm hoping for 50 degrees and sunshine next Tuesday. Fingers crossed.
It makes a big difference to be able to move into it after it has been cleaned. Hope the transfer over the next few days go well and you are happy in your new home
OH RUDEE.. This is such a beautiful house and it'll soon be your beautiful home. I'm glad you're getting some time off work to do this. I'm really excited for you. I so love those floors
The fireplace is looking very artistic. The tile work with wooden sides is an excellent combination.
I Buy Wood Stoves
that's an amazingly gorgeous house. you must be so happy. i love the front door. your kitchen looks like mine, only much nicer (we have formica, not granite).
and that fireplace is WAY cool. it's gas? you can convert it back, you know. we love our fireplace, but it does make the house extremely dusty.
Love it!! Can't wait to see more. Hope the actual moving day is dry. Cold isn't too bad but wet tend to put a damper on things. How great that Sebba cleaned it for you!! Does she hire out? I'd be more worried if the moths were still alive:)
Oh to have a kitchen like that, wow. I don't think I will ever have one since we're never moving again. Beautiful house, you will be happy there, it just looks like a happy house...ciao
Oh, so beautiful. That fireplace is amazing.
You could make some rag rugs or what about knitting some?
I love it all!
Try and enjoy your vacation a little :)
