The bed? Fabulous. Today, I woke up for the first time in YEARS without a backache. Just a smidge of a reminder that my back muscles aren't really happy with me. Ordinarily, it's back spasms that awaken me on a daily basis. Today, I had nothing near what I usually do. I got out of bed without stretching my lumbar muscles first. What a treat! I did toss and turn a bit last night but I think that had more to do with my mind than the bed. In addition, this mattress didn't "sleep hot" which is what some critics say is its major flaw. I was comfortable. It was also the first night in three years that I have not slept with 6 pillows propping my body into a comfortable position.
Speaking of pillows, I am still waiting on the free Tempur-Pedic pillow that came with my bed. The driver forgot to bring it with the bed in the morning and forgot to drop it off later in the day like he had promised he'd do. When I called the store to make a query on my MIA pillow, the woman who answered the phone said she'd have to call the driver to see if my story was true. OK, I'm annoyed. First, I didn't expect a free pillow-it wasn't the deciding factor in my purchase, but second, if I were lying about missing an article, it would be the mattresses. Not the pillow. Some people have sh*tty interpersonal skills. She'd be one of them.

Backaches are horrible. I haven't pulled my back out in years but the last time I did, I was flat on my back for three weeks. I remember getting stuck in a horrible position when trying to get off the bed once and had to lay there for hours until my husband got me my pain pills so it would allow me to move more than an inch without screaming...
Glad to read your back was good today. My son ordered a temperapedic...however, you say it, bed and I think they forgot his pillow also.
he loves the bed.
Back pain is horrible. And once you've got a back problem, you're likely to have issues all of your life. I've not had a day without back pain since I herniated 2 discs in my back in July 2005. Unfortunately, it's a huge problem for nurses. Many of us suffer in one way or another due to ergonomic issues.
I've been promised my pillow some time today. We'll see.
Glad the bed worked out! Love the new photo at the top of your blog; and thanks so much for the house blessing. Computer is back down, still can't find camera cord to upload but soon, soon, I'm sure! Meanwhile, thank goodness for the public library.
I'm so glad that you got your new bed and that you had a good nights sleep! I can really sympathize with you. I am never without pain in my back and right leg/foot. I had surgery back in 1989. I had an MRI done last year again my doctor wanted to do surgery again...different discs this time. I dread going through another back operation. Because of the pain and discomfort, I have no motivation to walk or do any kind of physical exertion. I am one BIG mess.
Someday I will post about all of my ailments. Not that anyone would care. But I seldom tell anyone and try not to complain. Only my family really knows what a complete and utter pain in the hiney I am.
I hope that you continue to feel better and that your back and core benefit from that new bed! I am happy for you!
I wouldn't know what to do if I wasn't in some kind of physical pain. Something always hurts. The bed sounds wonderful and the pillow too. I loved your picture of the lie detector!!! Ha Ha I could use one of those. Maybe you should get one and hook your son up to it so he will confess to the camera snatching. Ha ha...Also like the new banner...my dream house in the country, only not a two story...they are too hard on older folks like me! I have one and it kills the knees!
Brenda-that's my dream house too. The property next door was for sale but I think I'll need to hit the lottery this week in order to get it!
I'll keep all of you posted on my new bed. I know I must love it since I made the bed when I got up today. It's so comfy. A bit stinky but everyone says that's only the manufacturing process and it'll subside. In the meantime, I'm spraying the sheets with stress relief linen spray.
Rose-can't wait to see pics of your new home. Too bad about your internet service but then who needs a computer when the beach is in the backyard?
The back stuff is the worst bj. I hate hurting and I'm so tired of this. I'm hoping the new things around here will make a difference. I'm so reluctant to even see a surgeon. One doctor told me the day I needed surgery was one I would know when I felt I couldn't take it anymore. It's close but so far, I can bear it.
i'm thrilled for you with the bed, but agree that salesperson was extremely annoying and rude. even if that's secretly what she had to do, she could have said something else to you.... "I'm so sorry, let me get right back to you," would have sufficed.
for what it's worth, i bought one of those tempurpedic pillows and i coudln't use it. it's too thick; it pushed my neck up too much.
but doug commandeered it and he loves it.
I got the pillow laurie-late yesterday afternoon. I used it when I fell asleep last night but woke up this morning with my usual down pillow. I probably won't like it either though I'll continue to give it a shot.
Hey Laurie-you are right about the pillow. I just don't care for it. But the bed, the bed is fabulous.
